ITV recently completed installation of a new 5.1 mixing room as part of their upgrade to HD. The upgrade also included AudioFile SCX upgrades for all of their existing dubbing suites. After looking at all the possible solutions, they decided to purchase an AMS Neve DMC Console to compliment their existing array of AMS Neve Consoles and AudioFiles.

The new studio makes extensive use of the DMC Star Command to control Protools via Ethernet and is used for 5.1 dubbing and also for 5.1 up-mixing live events such as football. An AMS Neve CineFile dubber has also been installed in the new studio to complement the DMCs 5.1 stem mixing capabilities.

The SCX upgrades have been purchased for their existing Logic 1 and Logic 3 Consoles which are still in daily use after more than 15 years service.

The May 2010 Audio Media magazine cover illustrates 2 giants – the ‘Clash of the Titans’ movie and De Lane Lea.

The stories inside reveal two major results powered by AMS Neve kit:-

The final dub for the CotT movie was done by Mike Prestwood Smith & Mark Taylor at Pepper Post in London – on their USP-equipped DFC.

The De Lane Lea story details the ‘refresh and re-boot’ of the facility following the unfortunate fire in 2009. The Neve DFC’s feature heavily in the chosen equipment list, with particular reference to the (USP) double XSP engine now used in Studio 1.

Grab a copy & have a good read.
