Russ Hepworth-Sawyer recently reviewed theĀ Neve 4081 Quad Mic/Pre unit for Pro Sound News Europe and his findings were published in the February issue.
ITV recently completed installation of a new 5.1 mixing room as part of their upgrade to HD. The upgrade also included AudioFile SCX upgrades for all of their existing dubbing suites. After looking at all the possible solutions, they decided to purchase an AMS Neve DMC Console to compliment their existing array of AMS Neve Consoles and AudioFiles.
The new studio makes extensive use of the DMC Star Command to control Protools via Ethernet and is used for 5.1 dubbing and also for 5.1 up-mixing live events such as football. An AMS Neve CineFile dubber has also been installed in the new studio to complement the DMCs 5.1 stem mixing capabilities.
The SCX upgrades have been purchased for their existing Logic 1 and Logic 3 Consoles which are still in daily use after more than 15 years service.
The 1073LB uses original discrete components, utilising BC184′s and the 2N3055. No part of the audio circuit of the 1073LB uses IC’s, it is the same circuit design and has exactly the same audio performance as the 1073 Classic Mic/Pre circuit.
IC’s are used in the 1073LB module in non-audio specific areas – for the intelligent control features.
