AudioFile plays a role in multi award winning animation.

October 26th, 2010  / Author:

AMS Neve AudioFile editing system has played a pivotal role in the making of a new award winning animation “The Astronomers sun” – a 6 minute stopmotion film about a young man who visits an abandoned observatory to confront memories of his past and follow his father on a journey into the unknown.

The film was produced in the North of England. The audio track-laying and editing was carried out by Dave Aston at The Digital Audio Company using AMS AudioFile. Dave explains why he chose to use AudioFile for this project:-

“I used my trusty Audiofile for the track lay, despite having access to a PC
based DAW. I find the trim page so quick to use, particularly when I am
experimenting with overlapping non equal fades. The varispeed record
function also came in very useful for the speeding up and slowing down of
the orrary.  I also find it useful at times to drop tracks on top of each
other which, of course, is non destructive in an AudioFile.”

So far the film has won 3 awards – The Northern Futures Award, Rome International Film Festival and the Russian ISAFF Open Cinema and is currently being shown at film and arts festivals around the world.
